ITA: Il settimo full album delle RORUA, intitolato Only My Body, rappresenta uno dei capitoli più intensi e complessi del percorso artistico del progetto. Il titolo dell’album suggerisce immediatamente uno dei temi centrali del lavoro: il conflitto tra ciò che siamo davvero e il modo in cui veniamo percepiti o desiderati dagli altri. Il progetto è stato anticipato da due singoli di supporto: Il primo, Sweet Nostalgia, accompagnato dalla b-side Only My Body, racconta il momento in cui una relazione finita continua a vivere nella memoria di qualcuno ma non più nella realtà di chi è riuscito ad andare avanti. Accanto alle versioni originali sono state pubblicate anche le rispettive versioni Reimagined Rorua. Il secondo singolo, Is It Just Sex Now?, include la b-side Running for My Life e le relative versioni re-immaginate: due tracce che esplorano rispettivamente la crisi di un rapporto che sembra aver perso il suo significato emotivo e la necessità di ricominciare a correre per la propria vita dopo una ferita profonda. L’album si apre con Intro – Piano Poet, un brano strumentale che prepara l’ascoltatore a entrare in questo universo emotivo. Al centro dell’album troviamo la title track Dive in This Romance, una canzone che affronta il fascino ambiguo di un amore intenso e quasi pericoloso, una relazione che attira come una forza magnetica anche quando si percepisce che potrebbe non avere un futuro stabile. In All Night emerge un atteggiamento provocatorio e disilluso nei confronti dei sentimenti: la curiosità verso l’esperienza, il desiderio di vivere il momento senza lasciarsi intrappolare dalle aspettative emotive. Kiss My A** invece porta in primo piano la ribellione e l’orgoglio ferito dopo una relazione distruttiva, quando la rabbia diventa una forma di autodifesa. Con Too Much il disco cambia prospettiva e si concentra sulla sensibilità estrema: la sensazione di percepire ogni dettaglio emotivo con un’intensità quasi insopportabile, dove ciò che per gli altri passa inosservato diventa un uragano interiore. Questo tema si collega direttamente a Just One Tone, che racconta quanto possa bastare un piccolo cambiamento nel tono della voce di qualcuno per scatenare una spirale di insicurezza e paura. La title track concettuale dell’album, Only My Body, affronta uno dei temi più dolorosi dell’intero progetto: il momento in cui ci si rende conto che per qualcuno si è stati desiderati soltanto fisicamente, mentre il cuore cercava qualcosa di molto più profondo. Il brano parla della frattura tra fantasia e realtà e della trasformazione del dolore in forza. Questa trasformazione diventa ancora più evidente in Running for My Life, una traccia che racconta il momento in cui si decide di riprendersi il proprio spazio e ricominciare a vivere dopo essere stati messi alla prova. Con The Game Today il discorso si allarga e diventa quasi sociale: la sensazione di essere osservati, giudicati o usati come bersaglio in un gioco crudele in cui il dolore altrui diventa intrattenimento. Sweet Nostalgia, uno dei singoli che ha anticipato l’album, riflette invece su un fenomeno emotivo molto comune: il modo in cui alcune persone continuano a romanticizzare il passato mentre chi ha sofferto davvero cerca solo di andare avanti. Il tono diventa più intimo e malinconico in Misunderstood, una canzone che parla della sensazione di essere profondamente fraintesi dal mondo, come se la propria sensibilità non riuscisse mai a trovare un posto in cui essere compresa davvero. Con To Infinity? il disco prende una dimensione più filosofica, interrogandosi sulla natura dell’umanità, sui conflitti tra ciò che siamo e ciò che il mondo ci spinge a diventare, e sulla possibilità che le persone siano destinate a incontrarsi e scontrarsi infinite volte nel corso dell’esistenza. You Want Me, I Want You riporta invece il racconto su un terreno più luminoso, mostrando una relazione basata su un’energia reciproca e su una complicità che sembra capace di superare le difficoltà. Subito dopo, A Hundred Million Times affronta il lato opposto: la stanchezza emotiva di chi ha amato, perso e sofferto così tante volte da sentirsi svuotato, pur continuando a cercare un senso nelle proprie esperienze. Uno dei momenti più crudi dell’album arriva con Is It Just Sex Now?, una riflessione sulla crisi di una relazione in cui il legame emotivo sembra dissolversi lasciando soltanto un contatto fisico privo di significato. Il disco si chiude con Run and Catch Me, un brano che racconta un incontro quasi simbolico tra due persone attratte l’una dall’altra come in una danza fragile, dove il desiderio di essere raggiunti convive con la paura di sparire. Oltre alla versione standard, Only My Body è stato pubblicato anche in una fan-club edition con una copertina alternativa e quattro tracce aggiuntive: le versioni Reimagined Rorua di Only My Body, Sweet Nostalgia, Is It Just Sex Now? e Running for My Life. The album’s title immediately suggests one of its central themes: the conflict between who we truly are and the way we are perceived or desired by others. The project was preceded by two supporting singles. The first, Sweet Nostalgia, accompanied by the B-side Only My Body, tells the story of a relationship that continues to live on in someone’s memory, but no longer in the reality of the person who has managed to move on. Alongside the original versions, the respective Reimagined Rorua Versions were also released. The album’s conceptual title track, Only My Body, addresses one of the most painful themes of the entire project: the moment when someone realizes they were desired only physically, while their heart was searching for something much deeper. The song speaks about the fracture between fantasy and reality, and about transforming pain into strength. This transformation becomes even more evident in Running for My Life, a track that tells the story of the moment when one decides to reclaim their space and start living again after being pushed to the limit. With The Game Today, the discourse broadens and becomes almost social: the feeling of being watched, judged, or used as a target in a cruel game where someone else’s pain becomes entertainment. Sweet Nostalgia, one of the singles that introduced the album, reflects instead on a very common emotional phenomenon: the way some people continue to romanticize the past while the person who truly suffered is only trying to move forward. The tone becomes more intimate and melancholic in Misunderstood, a song about the feeling of being deeply misunderstood by the world, as if one’s sensitivity could never truly find a place where it is fully understood. With To Infinity?, the album takes on a more philosophical dimension, questioning the nature of humanity, the conflicts between who we are and what the world pushes us to become, and the possibility that people may be destined to meet and clash infinitely throughout existence. You Want Me, I Want You brings the story back to a brighter emotional space, showing a relationship built on mutual energy and a connection that seems capable of overcoming difficulties. Right after that, A Hundred Million Times explores the opposite side: the emotional exhaustion of someone who has loved, lost, and suffered so many times that they feel empty, even while continuing to search for meaning in their experiences. One of the rawest moments on the album comes with Is It Just Sex Now?, a reflection on the crisis of a relationship in which the emotional bond seems to dissolve, leaving behind only physical contact devoid of meaning. The album closes with Run and Catch Me, a track that tells the story of an almost symbolic encounter between two people drawn to one another like in a fragile dance, where the desire to be reached coexists with the fear of disappearing. In addition to the standard version, Only My Body was also released in a fan-club edition with an alternative cover and four additional tracks: the Reimagined Rorua Versions of Only My Body, Sweet Nostalgia, Is It Just Sex Now?, and Running for My Life. In terms of content, if we exclude the songs that had already been released previously as part of the singles (Sweet Nostalgia, Only My Body, Is It Just Sex Now?, and Running for My Life), the album features 12 completely new tracks within the main tracklist.
