AURORA - Naive - 2019

 

ITA: Naive è un mini-album strumentale di sei brani nato nel 2019. Nel 2018 non avevo composto nulla di strumentale, ma sentivo che, in quel momento, solo la musica potesse restituire ciò che provavo. Il titolo richiama l’ingenuità e l’innocenza, ma anche l’essere credulona, semplice, facilmente fraintendibile. Questa ambivalenza nasce da una rabbia silenziosa: l’essere percepita come ingenua quando dentro di me si muoveva tutt’altro. Ed è proprio questa tensione che attraversa il disco. Dal punto di vista sonoro non c’è nulla di candido o innocente: i brani sono più duri, più oscuri, a tratti carichi di rammarico. La musica contraddice il titolo, quasi a volerlo sfidare. Naive esprime il rimpianto di aver vissuto alcune esperienze sentendomi trattata come una semplice ingenua. È un pensiero emerso dopo eventi personali che mi hanno costretta a rivedere me stessa e il modo in cui ero stata percepita. Paradossalmente, è l’album in cui il titolo dissona maggiormente rispetto al contenuto musicale.

ENG: Naive is a six-track instrumental mini album released in 2019. In 2018, I hadn’t composed any instrumental music, but I felt that, at that moment, only music could truly express what I was feeling. The title evokes naivety and innocence, but also being gullible, simple, easily misunderstood. This ambivalence stems from a quiet anger — the frustration of being perceived as naive when, inside me, something entirely different was unfolding. It is precisely this tension that runs through the album. From a sonic perspective, there is nothing soft or innocent about it: the tracks are harsher, darker, at times filled with regret. The music contradicts the title, almost as if it were challenging it. Naive expresses the regret of having lived certain experiences while feeling treated as merely naive. It is a reflection that emerged after personal events that forced me to reassess myself and the way I had been perceived. Paradoxically, it is the album in which the title most strongly contrasts with the music it contains.
