AURORA - The whisper in the storm (2022)

 

ITA: The Whisper in the Storm è un album nato nel 2022 che riprende la scia cinematica di Pure Love Song, ma con un intento differente. In questo progetto ho voluto ispirarmi a immagini fiabesche: eroi, leggende, principi e principesse. È il periodo in cui ho scritto alcune fiabe (disponibili su Wattpad) che hanno influenzato direttamente alcuni di questi brani — diventati, anni dopo, testi di canzoni vere e proprie. L’obiettivo era creare un sound più epico, più stratificato e cinematicamente più potente rispetto al precedente Pure Love Song. Guardando oggi a quel lavoro, credo di essere riuscita nel mio intento: i brani mi sembrano più maturi e complessi, capaci di trasmettere con maggiore forza quell’idea di epicità che volevo evocare. Anche i titoli delle tracce riflettono chiaramente questa direzione narrativa. Posso considerare TWITS il primo concept album pienamente compiuto che abbia realizzato. In passato avevo costruito universi tematici attraverso singoli brani o mini-progetti, ma qui per la prima volta ho sviluppato un immaginario coerente dall’inizio alla fine. La scelta di includere solo nove tracce non è casuale. Avevo composto altri brani, ma non trovavano spazio nell’identità del disco: non mi convincevano pienamente e non dialogavano con l’universo che stavo costruendo. Oggi sono felice di averli esclusi, per preservare l’integrità e la coerenza del progetto.

ENG: The Whisper in the Storm is an album released in 2022 that continues the cinematic direction of Pure Love Song, but with a different intention. With this project, I drew inspiration from fairy-tale imagery: heroes, legends, princes and princesses. It was during this period that I wrote several fairy tales (available on Wattpad), which directly influenced some of these tracks — later becoming full song lyrics years afterward. The goal was to create a sound that felt more epic, more layered, and cinematically more powerful than Pure Love Song. Looking back at it today, I believe I achieved that intention: the compositions feel more mature and complex, better able to convey the sense of epic grandeur I wanted to evoke. The track titles clearly reflect this narrative direction as well. I consider TWITS to be the first fully realized concept album I have created. In the past, I had built thematic universes through individual tracks or mini-projects, but this was the first time I developed a coherent imaginary world from beginning to end. The decision to include only nine tracks was intentional. I had composed other pieces, but they did not fit within the album’s identity: they did not fully convince me, nor did they resonate with the universe I was building. Today, I am glad I chose to leave them out in order to preserve the project’s integrity and coherence.
